My name is Beatrice Burg and I am the Founder and Director of World Wide Learning Academy.
After 25 years in the Education system as a Primary School Teacher, teaching all year levels 1-7 and ESL (English Second Language) teacher, I decided children struggling to read in the classroom was unacceptable, and in 2000, I left the Education system to begin privately tutoring students with a structured literacy approach.
“Structured Literacy, an explicit, systematic, and multi-sensory approach that teaches the connection between sounds and letters. Programs should be intensive, individualised, and started as soon as reading difficulties are noticed, rather than waiting for a formal diagnosis.”
Mission Statement from Dyslexia Association of Australia
My training included:
- Teaching Students with Dyslexia (levels 1-3)
- Certification as an Irlen Diagnostician, member of Australasian Association of Irlen Consultants and Irlen Regional Director from the Mid to North-West of Western Australia, travelling almost 12,000km each year around the north-west of Western Australia helping children and adults with learning difficulties.
- Trialling and setting up an Online Classroom to reach students in Australia and worldwide.
- 10 years as a Registered Private Tutor and a professional member of Dyslexia SPELD in Perth, Western Australia (www.dsf.net.au)
As a mother of two and now grandmother to seven gorgeous grandies, teaching and working with children for so many years has helped me develop a vast range of practical, hands-on experience and knowledge of modifying the teaching method to the way the child learns.
I researched and used many resources and found there were a few that produced consistent results for most of my students. COVID put a stop to the travelling, so I decided to provide the resources on my website, so that parents and schools had an easy (and Australian) option to replenish their supplies.

My passion and sheer enjoyment is helping kids learn, whatever learning difficulties they have.
